Going on a Tanzania safari with Simba Safaris Limited is an exciting adventure, and we want to ensure that you are well-prepared for your trip. We have put together a comprehensive packing list to ensure that you have everything you need for a comfortable and safe safari experience.
When it comes to clothing, we recommend lightweight, long-sleeved shirts to protect against the sun and insects. We also suggest packing T-shirts, shorts (mid-length or longer), lightweight pants (such as cargo pants), and a fleece jacket or sweater for cooler evenings. It's also essential to pack a waterproof jacket or poncho, sturdy closed-toe shoes or hiking boots, and sandals or flip flops for wearing around the camp.
In terms of gear and accessories, we recommend bringing a sun hat with a wide brim to protect your face and neck, sunglasses, binoculars, and a camera with extra batteries and memory cards. It's also important to pack a flashlight or headlamp with extra batteries, insect repellent with DEET, sunscreen with a high SPF rating, and a personal first aid kit (including any prescription medications you may need). Don't forget to pack a water bottle or hydration system and a lightweight daypack.
Other essentials include your passport and visas, cash (small bills for tipping), travel documents and itinerary, an international plug adapter and converter for charging devices, toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, etc.), a lightweight towel, hand sanitizer or wet wipes, earplugs, and an eye mask (for sleeping). We also suggest packing a portable charger for electronic devices.
At Simba Safaris Limited, we believe in packing light and only bringing what you need. Leave valuable items at home and pack all of your gear and essentials in a soft-sided duffel bag or backpack. Finally, don't hesitate to check with our tour operator or travel agent to see if they have any specific packing recommendations or if you have any questions about what to bring on your safari.
